Cervical myelopathy is spinal cord dysfunction caused by pressure/compression of the spinal cord in the neck. Symptoms can include balance problems, hand clumsiness, weakness in hands or legs, or numbness in hands or legs. In most cases symptoms progress in a stepwise fashion, but some patients have a more rapid decline.
